With over 10 years of experience on parent councils, Stacy-Ann has seen firsthand the value of practical, career-focused education. She understands the importance of equipping young people with real-world skills that can lead to future opportunities—whether as a creative outlet, a form of extra income, or the foundation for a career in the beauty industry.

The Foundations of Braiding Program is a structured 4-week course designed to equip students with essential hairstyling skills, from the history and cultural significance of braiding to mastering advanced techniques. This hands-on program provides students with a strong foundation in hair care, parting, braiding methods, and professional styling techniques, preparing them for personal or career growth in the cosmetology industry.

Week 2
Box Braids 101
Take your skills to the next level with box braids and micro braids! Learn the correct sectioning, tension control, and finishing techniques to create polished, long-lasting braids.
Week 3
Knotless Braids & Cornrows
Explore the modern knotless technique for lightweight, natural-looking braids and the art of cornrows, from simple straight-back styles to creative designs and patterns.
